Program and Project Management

CDS has experience managing several types of projects ranging in various size and scope. CDS understands and realizes the discipline it takes to define and achieve targets while optimizing/allocating valuable resources. CDS' project management skills are centered around planning and organizing work assignments, assessing and mitigating risk, estimating and acquiring human and material resources, assigning tasks, directing activities, assessing results, and reporting on progress. CDS understands the importance of controlling five key variables; time, cost, quality, scope, and risks; which if left unchecked could doom a project.

CDS practices the philosophy of process based management, that are driven by CMMI based maturity models. Process based management allows CDS to use the customer defined concept of a project as its guide for determining the structure, resources, and strategy for success rather than getting lost in specific tasks or individual functions.

CDS also has the experience and capability to manage a portfolio of multiple inter-dependent projects, while always focusing on the primary objectives of the program. CDS provides the coordination and prioritization of resources across projects, agencies, and contractors to ensure resource contention is managed with a global focus. CDS understands the delicate balance of managing a program and provides the infrastructure for projects to be run successfully by not overstepping into the project management realm when it serves as the program manager.

Logistics Management

CDS offers services for managing the fruition of project life-cycles, supply chains, and the resultant efficiencies. CDS strives to ensure that its customers obtain products, services, or human resources at places where they need to be and at a time when they need to be there. CDS understands the main functions of carrying out logistics and we carefully balance the risks when making organizing and planning decisions on purchase, transportation, and warehousing activities. CDS strives to coordinate resources creatively and flexibly to respond to the customer or project's objectives in a timely cost effective manner.
